Selected publications will be considered for the Special Issue “Food Waste Prevention: Reduction, Reuse and Recycling”, now open in RESOURCES (MDPI), which is guest edited by Prof. Konstadinos Abeliotis and Prof. Katia Lasaridi.
This Special Issue focuses on Food Waste Prevention, Reduction, Reuse, and Recycling. Food waste prevention via food donation and redistribution is among the top priorities set by the food waste management hierarchy and it is included among this millenium’s sustainable development goals. Moreover, technological progress in valorisation pathways for specific components of food waste, including novel or significantly improved processes, such as feed from food or bioplastics production, and progress in management procedures are also relevant in this context. Studies reporting on synergies between sectors or individual entities are particularly welcome.
Selected publications will be considered for the Special Issue “RETASTE – Rethinking food waste”, in Circular Economy and Sustainability, which is guest edited by Prof. Thrassyvoulos Manios, Prof. Katia Lasaridi, Prof. Kostadinos Abeliotis, and Dr. Ioannis Daliakopoulos.
As a special offer by Springer, all content published will be freely accessible to everyone until the end 2022. Authors can choose to publish under the traditional publishing model (no charges apply), but the journal also provides the open access option (with article-processing charges)
